Upgrade components are items that can be added to weapons , armor , trinkets , and gathering tools. The equipment must have an Upgrade Slot to accept a component, and most upgrade components require the item to be above a certain level. Upgrade components grant bonuses such as increased attributes or effects added to attacks while wielding that piece. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects. Upgrades can be crafted, bought, found, or obtained as a reward.
Upgrade components in an item can be replaced with another upgrade component, but doing so will overwrite the previous upgrade. Upgrade components placed in items cannot be recovered except by either salvaging the item with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool , or by using an Upgrade Extractor. Equipment from karma merchants will often come with an upgrade component that cannot be replaced or salvaged.
However, glyphs and upgrades in legendary equipment can be swapped freely. As for the price difference. Is that actually the case.. I was under the impression F2P have various restriction tied to them..
I explained it in a way that there is no difference for the offers. There are restrictions, but calling it a trial account goes too far imo. There are games with F2P with all kinds of benefits locked behind paywalls. The other restrictions exist to promote micro transactions. Also, you can not upgrade to the full game, you just can remove the restrictions by getting an expansion. They are still essentially trial accounts.. Trialaccounts are, as the name implies, accounts to test the game. To see if it is what you want.
That is not considered Free to play as it still requires you to buy the game to expierence it to the fullest. The restrictions are not in place to limit you so you are urged to buy it. It doesnt make them essentially trial accounts. They allow you to do the same things as the regular accounts, except some minor restrictions that are there to prevent misuse. No log-in rewards, no access to Gold-to-Gem exchange, no ability to transfer Worlds, among others, are pretty severe limitations.
