The course is the brainchild of Diana Duran, an assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Systems and Environment. Each week, students tour the project site, attend a project meeting and shadow a project engineer, project manager, or superintendent to see how the company employee performs different tasks for the project. At the end of each week, students reflect on the activities they engaged in.
Beginning this spring, UVA will be offering a minor in real estate for the first time. Together, the department and its partners are forming a consortium designed to provide more comprehensive education in the field.
